Waxed cotton fabric has a rich history dating back to the early 19th century when sailors and fishermen in the British Isles used tar or linseed oil to waterproof their clothing. Waxed cotton fabric as we know it today originated in the mid-19th century when Scottish clothiers started producing waxed garments for outdoor workers and adventurers. We were inspired by the rich history.
